March for the Children Events

The week of June 24 through June 30, 2018, the people of Jacksonville, Florida held a series of vigils and protests calling for an end to the illegal and cruel policy of family separation and imprisonment initiated by the Trump administration. Despite reluctant changes to the stated policy, thousands of children including babies and toddlers remain separated from their parents while reunited families remain locked up in prisons in order to coerce them to give up their legal requests for asylum.

Numerous organizations, churches, and individuals worked to give voice to the community’s grief and outrage, with hundreds turning out among the events.
